About
Toffee waffles are a subject of gastronomical devotion in the Netherlands, where they are called stroopwafels (“strope-vafels”). Not to be confused with their cousin, the Belgian waffle, stroopwafels are thin, delicate waffles, split in half and fill with creamy caramel. They have a rich, buttery flavor with just a hint of cinnamon.
When served the traditional way—atop a mug of steaming hot coffee or tea— the waffle’s caramel center becomes delectably soft, while your beverage stays piping hot. A toffee waffle is more than just a little something with your drink. A toffee waffle means a commitment, for just a few moments, to pause. A koffiepauze with a toffee waffle, is well worth the time.
Proper People, LLC, is the only producer of toffee waffles in the Midwest and one of only a handful of stroopwafelmakers in North America. These toffee waffles contain no artificial preservatives, high-fructose corn syrup, or any other industrial food-like products. Instead, Proper People’s waffles are each made by hand, using high-quality, local ingredients and packaged in biodegradable bags. See the source of each ingredient on the ingredients page.

By chance to you sell your stroopwafels to any stores in New York City where I could run out and buy them?

Oh I wish I did! But no, it is just MN right now. I’m planning to start selling online in the next few months, but until then, New Yorkers can luckily get stroopwafels at the Brooklyn Flea. Seriously lucky, since there are only 4 or 5 places in the US that you can get fresh stroopwafels.
